Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the “14th Five-Year Plan” Medical Equipment Industry Development Plan and “14th Five-Year Plan”.Robot“Industrial Development Plan” and “14th Five-Year Plan for Intelligent Manufacturing Development”, the modern manufacturing industry represented by medical equipment, robots, and intelligent manufacturing will usher in a new “acceleration” in the next five years.
The new crown pneumonia epidemic has not only affected everyone’s life, but also sounded the alarm for the development of the global medical equipment industry. At the beginning of the epidemic, the supply of medical equipment such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machines (ECMO) was in short supply, and some high-end medical equipment was even more dependent on imports, which further exposed problems such as insufficient emergency support preparations and lack of industry emergency support mechanisms in my country’s medical equipment industry.
The “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Medical Equipment Industry” is the first plan to promote the development of the medical equipment industry at the national level. The plan specifies seven Industrial fields to focus on in the next five years: diagnostic testing equipment, treatment equipment, monitoring and life support equipment, traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment equipment, maternal and child health equipment, health care rehabilitation equipment, and active implant intervention equipment. According to industry experts, these fields basically cover the entire life cycle of medical and health service equipment needs of the entire population, from prevention, diagnosis, treatment to health, nursing, and maintenance.
In terms of responding to emergencies and infectious diseases, the “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Medical Equipment Industry” also clarifies that it is necessary to strengthen capacity building such as epidemic prediction and early warning, emergency inspection and testing, epidemic prevention and control, emergency medical rescue, and emergency mobilization of medical equipment.
Wang Weiming, director of the First Division of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, the development of my country’s medical equipment industry is facing both major opportunities and major challenges. The new crown pneumonia epidemic has accelerated the regionalization and localization of the global industrial chain and supply chain. Developed countries compete for the high ground of medical equipment competition. The resistance and competitive pressure faced by my country’s medical equipment to move towards the mid-to-high end of the industrial chain value chain have increased significantly.
The medical equipment industry is a typical internationalized and sophisticated industry. At present, foreign well-known medical equipment enterprises have basically invested in setting up factories and expanding production in my country. Chinese medical equipment industry enterprises and scientific research institutions have also actively carried out international cooperation to expand product exports.
Li Zhiyong, secretary general of the China Medical Equipment Association, noted that the “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Medical Equipment Industry” also clearly stated that the development of medical equipment should adhere to the combination of “bringing in” and “going out”. He believes that in the next step, the medical equipment industry should strengthen exchanges and cooperation with foreign excellent medical equipment enterprises, research institutions, and colleges and universities, and build platforms and provide services for them to invest and establish medical equipment R&D centers and production bases in China. It should provide legal consultation, testing and certification, intellectual property and other services for industry enterprises to “bring in” and “go out”.
Robot development, manufacturing, applicationIt is an important symbol to measure a country’s technological innovation and high-end manufacturing level. Although my country’s robot industry started late, it has developed rapidly. In 2020, the industry’s revenue exceeded 100 billion yuan for the first time, and it has played a major role in industry, education, medical care, agriculture and other fields.
However, compared with the world’s advanced level, my country’s robot industry still has a certain gap. The “14th Five-Year Plan for Robot Industry Development” proposes that in the next five years, it is necessary to focus on making up for shortcomings such as special materials, core components, and processing technology to improve the function, performance and reliability of key robot components; develop robot control software , core algorithms, etc., to improve the function and intelligence level of the robot control system. By 2025, my country will become the source of global robotics technology innovation, high-end manufacturing agglomeration and a new highland for integrated applications. The operating income of the robotics industry will increase by more than 20% annually, and the density of manufacturing robots will double.
2025 is an important node for the transformation and upgrading of many manufacturing sectors. The “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Intelligent Manufacturing” also proposes that by 2025, most of the manufacturing enterprises above designated size will realize digital networking, and the backbone enterprises in key industries will initially apply intelligence; by 2035, manufacturing enterprises above designated size will be fully popularized Digitization and networking, and key enterprises in key industries have basically achieved intelligence.
As a product of the deep integration of a new generation of information technology and advanced manufacturing technology, intelligent manufacturing has high expectations. It is the main track for the transformation and competition of manufacturing industries in various countries, and it is also the main direction of my country’s construction of a manufacturing powerhouse. Wang Weiming said bluntly that the development level of intelligent manufacturing is related to the global status of my country’s future manufacturing industry.
At present, there are more than 6,000 intelligent manufacturing system solution providers in my country, whose service scope covers more than 90% of the manufacturing fields such as automobiles, textiles, and medicine. In 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology established the Intelligent Manufacturing System Solution Supplier Alliance, which has become an important force to promote the development of suppliers and support the intelligent upgrading of regions and industries.
